With Boot Camp any MacTel machine can run the wide range of Windows software. There's a danger here for OS X. Developers may well stop investing time and Clearly, they are meeting that target, and with Vista, may even surpass it. Imagine if Intel did just "adequate". We might be up to the Pentium 133 by now.

Yes, I agree, it will be interesting to see what these new MacTel machines entail. There's plenty of wow factor about OS X, the latest being Spotlight (in my opinion, I'm sure others have their own highlights, I hear Boot Camp has wowed the MacTel folk). I've see nothing in any Windows release since Win95 that's made me go out and buy it. Vista doesn't look to be breaking that tradition.

Parallels slows both the Mactel and virtual Windows OS: it can't not slow the system as it uses every available resource and divides them between OSes. Why you would choose Vista Business, loaded with networking and security features that are useless as a virutalized OS, is beyond me.
